My first Christmas picture book came out in October, and the next two months were a whirlwind of fun events! I just wanted to give a quick recap here and tell everyone how thankful I am for their support! First off, a friend of mine built me this beautiful wooden Remember Tree that I could bring with me to my storytimes. He did such a great job making it look just like the one from the book!
I am also so grateful my family was able to join me for my book launch!
Speaking of my book launch, it took place at the Penguin Bookshop and had a great turnout. Susan introduced me, I read The Remember Tree, and answered questions. I admit, I was surprised at the fantastic questions the kids came up with! My sister made delicious gingerbread house cookies, kids could make their own Remember Trees at a craft table, and we gave out candy canes with star ornaments for kids to take home.
So many friends and family came, and I felt very loved and supported! Thank you to everyone!
Soon afterwards, we had a trip to Utah planned to visit family, so I did a storytime at the Sandy Library and over 50 kids came! I also ran a storytime at The Printed Garden, a cute independent bookstore. In December, I also hosted events at Riverstone Books, Spark Books, Mystery Lovers, and did storytimes for multiple preschool classes.
Phew! It was busy, but fun! I loved watching kids try to guess the riddles and make their own Remember Trees. I’m so grateful for all my friends and family that have supported me and helped me make these events possible! Can’t wait for next Christmas!
